Mr. Majed Akhtar iscurrently pursuing a doctoral degree in Geography at the Universityof Arizona, USA. He has been teaching History, Political Economy ofPunjab and Pakistan Studies at Beaconhouse National University. Atthe University of Arizona, Mr. Akhtar has been teaching courses onPolitical Geography (Fall 2011), Population Geography (Summer 2011)and Geopolitics of South Asia (Spring 2011). Mr. Akhtar has conductedresearch on Optimization of Dual Conjunctive Water Supply and ReuseSystems as Graduate Research Associate at the Udall Center forStudies in Public Policy, University of Arizona (2009-2010). He hasalso contributed conference papers on Understanding theContradictions of the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 (October 2011), TheEngineer as Law: Water and Expertise in Pakistan (May 2011), Statesand Rivers: A historical – geographical analysis of the Induswaterscape (April 2010) and Hydraulic infrastructure of the Induswaterscape: A historical – geographical perspective (March 2010).
